Coronavirus: Updated guidance for businesses ahead of 19 July

Last night the Prime Minister confirmed that England will be moving to Step 4 on Monday 19 July. This means:

  • All remaining closed businesses and venues will be able to reopen
  • All capacity limits at sporting, entertainment, or business events will be lifted
  • Hospitality venues such as pubs, restaurants and bars will no longer be required to provide table service or follow other social distancing rules

New guidance for businesses has been published on the Government website. The guidance aims to help us all stay safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The West Sussex Retail Hub is live!

West Sussex Retail Hub

Last night’s exciting online launch of the West Sussex Retail Hub was attended by over 30 businesses from across the County.

The event featured key note speaker and Sussex resident Mark Smith, Operations Director at Sweaty Betty. Mark shared a positive view of the new opportunities emerging for independent retailers and highlighted the importance of offering customers experiences, not just products.

Chris Brown, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for the Local Economy, underlined the shared commitment of all of the West Sussex Districts and Boroughs that have commissioned the West Sussex Retail Hub to support high street businesses, helping them to respond to changes in business operations and customer shopping habits.

These introductions were followed by an overview of each of the ten Learning Modules by their specialist presenters and a brief Q and A.

A recording of the event will shortly be available. Any independent retail business in West Sussex is welcome to join the Hub: simply click the button below to register.
