Wellbeing Centre update

We were very excited to open our pop up shop last month! If you haven't already seen us we are located at Unit 4a The Forum in Horsham town and are open weekdays 10am-4pm. Our friendly staff and advisors are on hand to answer any questions you may have and tell you about the services we offer.

Once fully open, we hope to provide a space and opportunity for residents to reflect, talk and think about how a few small changes to your health and wellbeing will help you move forward in a positive way. We will be programming a variety of talks and activities related to health and wellbeing so watch this space.

According to 'Business in the Community', Working adults in the UK, spend on average one-third of their working hours at work. Evidence suggests that a healthy business is driven by healthy employees and the benefits are seen in reduced sickness absence and increased productivity. As the impact of COVID-19 becomes more apparent, businesses could benefit from local support to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is 'Nature'. During long months of the pandemic, millions of people turned to nature.

Research has shown that going for walks outside was one of the top coping strategies and 45% of people reported being in green spaces had been vital for their mental health.

One of the aims of the week is to inspire more people to connect with nature in new ways, noticing the impact that this connection can have for their mental health.

Moving Minds is also launching during Mental Health Awareness Week on May 10 and will continue throughout the summer to unlock open spaces and create safe opportunities for people to connect.
