Working to make sure businesses are COVID-secure
The Council is working with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to contact businesses in Horsham District to check they have COVID-secure measures in place and to help tackle coronavirus (COVID-19) in the local area.
This includes business like shops, pubs and leisure centres that local communities use and are crucial to the local economy.
Our officers will be calling on business owners to check they are managing the risk of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Being COVID-secure means that businesses need to put adjustments in place to manage the risk and protect workers and others from coronavirus (COVID-19). For further information on how to manage the risk of coronavirus in different business sectors please read the government guidance.

Have your say in the review of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
The Government is carrying out a two-year review of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) to update and simplify the process. Four surveys are running from 3 – 31 March 2021 to canvass the views of those impacted, including housing regulators and surveyors, landlords, other property professionals and residents.
Having been in place for 15 years, the Government wants to review the HHSRS because building technology and knowledge about risks and hazards in buildings have advanced.
