Welcome to the team Gill!
We are very pleased to announce that The Strong and Steady team is growing as we welcome our new instructor, Gill.
Gill brings a wealth of experience in delivering group exercise programmes and recently added a LaterLife Postural Stability Instructor (PSI) qualification to her repertoire.
The PSI qualification gives Gill the extra specialist knowledge necessary to deliver strength and balance activities to those who have concerns about their balance but want to be stronger, steadier and more active.
The Strong & Steady programme includes a free 8 week course at The Bridge leisure centre in Broadbridge Heath along with a workshop, new for 2020, that can be taken to rural locations throughout Horsham District.
The aim of programme is to improve strength, balance, coordination and flexibility and maintain independence. It is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those who wobble, trip or stumble.

Men's Health 90 Day Challenge
In September last year the Wellbeing Service launched a Men’s Health 90 Day Challenge aimed at encouraging men to think about health and in particular weight loss.
Teams of between 2 and 4 men entered with some friendly competition, spot prizes and expert advice from our Wellbeing Advisors helping to focus minds.
The teams submitted their weight each week which was added to a league table on the Council’s Health and Wellbeing website so teams could track their progress.
Commenting on the Challenge, one participant said:.''I have made lots of small changes...including making wiser food choices, and I have not had any alcohol since the summer but perhaps the most major thing is that I have started to do regular exercise and am now a lot more active.”
The final weigh-in took place in December and the combined weight loss across all teams was over 24 stone!
