New Year's Resolutions: What you shouldn't do!

2019

It's that time again when we all start to think about what we want to do differently this year.

So, rather than tell you what you should be doing we thought it would be helpful to give you some tips about what NOT to do!

Strong & Steady courses and workshops

S&S2

New for 2019!

FREE 8 week strength and balance beginner courses, falls prevention workshops and graduate classes!

Courses can help improve balance, strength and mobility whilst the workshops will tour the district to deliver practical advice about how to improve your balance, reduce your risk of falling and give you the opportunity to try some simple exercises you can do at home.

We aim to provide a friendly and safe environment to give you confidence and help keep you strong and steady. If you think you or someone you know would benefit, or you're an organisation that would like our workshop to come to you then we want to hear from you!

Anne

Inspiration Alert!

If you’re looking for inspiration to get active then look no further...meet Anne. Anne did her 100th Parkrun in December to celebrate her 80th birthday!

Anne took part in our Learn to Run course a couple of years ago and has continued to run regularly since. She has become a key member of the graduate group and is well known at Horsham Parkrun. We certainly think she is great role model and deserves a huge congratulations for all her achievements.

Well done Anne!

If you're looking to get active but don't know where to start then we could have a course for you.

Health Rides Programme Extended for 2019

Cycling

Local volunteer ride leaders supported by Horsham District Council’s sports development team are following up last year’s pilot programme of health rides with an extended offer in 2019.

Last year around 50 participants varying in age from 30 to 70 years benefited from the rides and this year it’s hoped that more will sign-up. The rides are free of charge and are supported by leaders trained and experienced to adapt to rider needs. There’s also a strong social aspect to the rides, enhanced by a café stop on most of the rides!

For less confident or just plain rusty riders starter training is available in Horsham Park to help you get back in the saddle!
