Following a review of operational requirements, the Nightingale Court at the Leonardo Hotel in Croydon will close as planned when the lease expires at the end of March 2026.
The last operational date will be 13 March 2026, with workloads transferred to other courts within the permanent estate. The temporary court opened in 2021 with two hearing rooms, initially for non-custodial Crown Court cases and more recently for Family Courts.

Oxford Magistrates’ Court will temporarily close from 5 January 2026 to allow for vital improvement works, including a roof replacement.
The works will ensure the building is fit for everyone who uses it. We anticipate that the court will re-open in July 2026.
Cases will be moved to High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court, Reading Magistrates’ Court and Oxford Combined Court for the period of the closure.

From Monday 24 November 2025, legal representatives issuing child arrangements (C100) applications or domestic abuse (FL401) applications in Swansea/Mid-West Wales, Kingston-Upon-Hull and Grimsby, Chelmsford or Wolverhampton will need to submit these applications using the online Private Family Law service.
The Private Family Law service allows you to issue and respond to applications, view judge directions, upload supporting evidence, access digital bundles and view final orders. If your organisation is registered with MyHMCTS you will already be able to access the Private Family Law service. If your organisation does not yet have a MyHMCTS account, you can register online.
