Ministers have confirmed plans to remove the fee for survivors of violence and domestic abuse in debt proceedings to remove their personal details from the Insolvency Register and the official public record, the Gazette. The changes will take effect from 17 November 2025.

The temporary technical issue affecting the Help with Fees service has now been resolved. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we worked to resolve this issue.
If you are a legal professional applying for help with court and tribunal fees and your client is currently receiving qualifying benefits, you no longer need to send evidence alongside the completed application. Litigants applying in person also do not need to supply evidence.

We’ve published details of courts and tribunals opening times over the upcoming festive period. Most courts will close over the Christmas and New Year period, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
Some magistrates' courts will open for remand hearings only on limited dates.
