An exhibition to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Law Commission has opened at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.
Banners on display in the Great Hall explain the history of the commission and its work to keep the law under review and to recommend reform where needed.
The free exhibition runs until Friday 28 November 2025 and is open between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

Two London schools took part in a recent mock knife crime trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court. Following last week's video about the event, our blog post highlights how pupils took on courtroom roles whilst learning from legal professionals and community workers.
Students learned about the impact of knife-related offences, life-saving first aid skills, and community programmes that support positive choices.

The government has announced plans to repeal the presumption of parental involvement from the Children Act 1989. New evidence indicates that in some cases, prioritising contact can be detrimental to child welfare.
Whilst the current law includes safeguards to restrict involvement where necessary, the proposed change aims to reinforce that child safety and wellbeing are central to decision-making processes.
