Students from two London schools experienced how the criminal courts deal with knife crime cases through a mock trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court. The interactive 'Caught to Court' event, now in its second year, gave pupils aged 14 to 17 years the opportunity to understand the effects of knife-related offences, hearing from legal professionals and others working in local communities.
Led by court staff, students took on courtroom roles in a fictional knife crime case, giving them a powerful insight into how the justice system works, as well as learning life-saving first aid skills and how community initiatives can empower them to positively impact their lives.

We’ve published a two-part blog series on how we support HM Prison and Probation Service's (HMPPS) Prisoner Escort and Custody Services (PECS) contract. The first details how PECS manages over 600,000 prisoner movements annually, coordinating services across HMCTS, HMPPS, police and suppliers.
Part two highlights the daily realities of PECS operations through frontline staff voices, emphasising how effective delivery depends on teamwork, resilience and supporting vulnerable individuals' wellbeing.
