Construction of the new City of London Law Courts has reached its next milestone, bringing the building a step closer to opening its doors.

The law courts, in Salisbury Square off Fleet Street, will open in 2027 and deal with civil, magistrates' and Crown Court cases across 18 courtrooms.

We held our latest Strategic Engagement Group meeting with members from the Bar Council, Law Society and Chartered Institute of Legal Executives earlier this month and have now published the Chair's summary of the meeting.
The meeting featured updates on operational and strategic developments, Adult Intensive Supervision Courts, progress updates on civil digitisation, and the comprehensive evaluation of HMCTS reform services. We also discussed the future direction of the group, now the reform programme has concluded.

On 2 October 2025, we are updating the MyHMCTS payment section with a dropdown option that will include the Payment by Account number for every organisation.
This will save time in manually completing the field and reduce the risk of incorrectly inputting the account number.
To ensure this upgrade works for you, please check with your case administrator that your organisation has registered its account number and it is correctly linked to the MyHMCTS account.
