Using artificial intelligence to transform our services

We're testing AI to help make courts work better and improve the service for users. Our latest blog details how we're working closely with judges and legal professionals to cut waiting times and make the justice system more efficient.

Early trials include using AI to help judges with transcription and case summaries, anonymising documents automatically and creating better search tools for legal teams.

We recognise that AI has the potential to significantly enhance the administration of justice - but only when implemented responsibly. 

Step inside justice: Lewes Combined Court open day

Curious about what goes on inside a courthouse? Come along to Lewes Combined Court's open day on Saturday 13 September, 10am to 2:30pm.

Take a guided tour through our historic building and see justice in action with mock trials. You can also peek inside the court cells and chat with the people who make our justice system work every day.

Discover justice at the heart of London

Step inside one of Britain's most iconic courthouses when the Royal Courts of Justice opens its historic doors to the public on Saturday 20 September from 10am to 4pm.

Take part in mock trials and join Q&A sessions with staff and lawyers. You can also visit the cells, try on judges' robes, and explore much more besides.

A Month in HMCTS

Our recent highlights video recaps Minister Davies-Jones visit to Leeds Combined Court in August and our service centres taking magistrates' court calls nationwide.

We launched a new podcast on mock trials and shared progress on the new City of London Law Courts. We also published a day-in-the-life blog from Bristol Crown Court showcasing how our staff help deliver justice.
