The Royal Courts of Justice (RCJ) will again open its historic doors to members of the public on Saturday 20 September from 10am to 4pm.
The RCJ opened to visitors last year and welcomed over 5,100 people.
This year, visitors will be able to participate in mock trials, join Q&A sessions with staff and lawyers, visit the cells, try on judges' robes and much more besides.
Thanks to our current and retired staff from the North East region who made their mark at Withernsea Beach in the East Riding of Yorkshire, gathering over 400 items of litter and filling three large bin bags.
From plastic fragments to pieces of clothing, their volunteering efforts will contribute valuable data to the Marine Conservation Society survey.
Practitioners and users of the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) small claims track can benefit from the recent publication of an updated user guide.
The simplified guide has been designed to assist litigants, particularly individuals and SMEs, in navigating this cost-effective forum for resolving low-value intellectual property disputes.
Practical tips include how to decide if the IPEC small claims track is suitable, how claims proceed, what procedures apply and how to contact them.
Subject to parliamentary approval, the Ministry of Justice will increase the lasting power of attorney fee later this year, from £82 to £92.
The new fee will be payable for applications received from 17 November 2025.
