The Ministry of Justice has launched a new AI Action Plan to help reduce reoffending, improve public safety and support frontline staff across the justice system, including in our courts.
The plan sets out how artificial intelligence can be used to help predict and prevent violence in prisons and better track offenders across prisons, probation and courts by connecting offender records across different systems.

The Arbitration Act 2025 came into effect today, modernising the UK’s arbitration framework and reinforcing London’s global reputation as a leading destination for dispute resolution.
The reforms aim to help businesses settle disputes faster and more affordably, while giving courts new powers to support arbitration proceedings.

From 7 August 2025, the Family Private Law service on MyHMCTS will accept child arrangement applications (C100 applications) and domestic abuse applications (FL401 applications) for family courts in Wolverhampton. From this date family courts in Chelmsford will also accept domestic abuse applications submitted via MyHMCTS.
Legal professionals in Chelmsford and Wolverhampton with a MyHMCTS account will automatically have their accounts updated with access to the service.
