Our latest monthly management information for December 2023 to December 2024 is now available.

It includes workload volumes and timeliness at a national level for our civil and family courts, and tribunals.

Court bailiffs and enforcement officer scams

HMCTS has been made aware of reports of scammers contacting members of the public and acting as bailiffs and enforcement officers. We recently put out a message on social media alerting users to this.

If you suspect you have experienced a form of fraudulent communication, do not offer any payment and refer to our guidance on how to recognise and handle fraudulent communications.

Probate waiting times reduced

Our monthly management information published this week shows that HMCTS has reduced average wait times in December 2024 to just over four weeks.

This compares to twelve weeks at the end of 2023 and over eight weeks at the end of June 2024.

The probate system has reduced its backlog by over 50,000 cases since August 2023 and ensuring faster estate settlements for families.
