Our contractors Balfour Beatty have continued to make good progress on our A14 and M11 programme of essential works with the recent good weather helping to increase productivity. The final section of earthworks in on the A1307 is well underway and will be completed next week. This will be followed by the installation of the new road restraint system and the resurfacing over the Huntingdon Road Bridge. The work on the A428 beneath Cambridge Road Bridge where we are carrying out some embankment repairs and improving the access to the bridge bearings is on schedule. The traffic management on the westbound carriageway will be removed next week and the work on the eastbound side will continue for another few weeks. The A14 J31 – 34 central reservation barrier works very near completion and as soon as they are done the remaining 40mph speed limit will be lifted. Current scheduleHere's the current schedule of works that Balfour Beatty are carrying out on behalf of Highways England. Remember schedules may change at short notice, for example due to bad weather. Thank you for signing up to stay informed about the A14 and M11 Essential works. We'll do our utmost to complete these works quickly, avoid disturbance and keep noise to a minimum. Once complete, the work will result in a smoother and safer A14, better bridges, and clearer directions to Addenbrookes Hospital. |
