Summer Holiday Activities in Herefordshire

If you’re looking for ideas to help you and your family stay active and entertained during the summer holidays there are lots of different activities and events taking place across Herefordshire, from a family fete, an archaeology adventure, a graffiti workshop and lots more! We’ve been sure to include some free and low cost activities too (sounds good!).

Summer Reading Challenge 2024: Marvellous Makers

Saturday 6 July is the official launch of the Summer Reading Challenge 2024: Marvellous Makers, so make sure you visit your local library to collect your FREE Summer Reading Challenge pack and pick your books (let’s get started!). The Summer Reading Challenge is all about capturing children's imaginations and encouraging them to discover the joy of reading. As children make their way through the challenge they can receive stickers and medals to mark their achievements (all totally free!).

This year’s theme Marvellous Makers is all about creativity and Herefordshire Libraries have free drop in events this Saturday. There’s lots going on around the county from rocket building and science experiments, to mini zine making and more! To find out more visit the Herefordshire Libraries Eventbrite page.

We have a date for your calendars for the autumn. On Sunday 13th October Dementia Matters Here is coming together with organisations from across the county to present an array of information, live entertainment and shopping at Maylord Orchards. Your Repair Café needs you!

A new Repair Café is opening in Hereford and is on the lookout for volunteers. Maybe you want to save things from going to landfill, you enjoy sewing or fixing things; or perhaps you could help to meet and greet? Find out more as Hereford Repair Café hosts a public meeting on Tuesday 9th July at 7pm at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Hereford.

SEND Sessions at Halo

Halo have announced the launch of their SEND swimming sessions at Hereford Leisure Pool, specially designed to cater to individuals with special educational needs and disabilities.

These inclusive sessions will be held every Wednesday from 1pm to 2pm in the Leisure Pool. Open to both adults and children, members and non-members, these sessions aim to provide a calm and supportive environment for all. The sensory-friendly environment includes easy pool access, with reduced capacity and restrictions on noise to ensure a more relaxed experience.

School's out - take an emotional health check
