Community grant schemes now launched (UKSPF and REPF)
There is some exciting news for community and voluntary groups in Herefordshire! The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) community grant schemes are now open, they offer funding for projects that aim to make a difference in local neighbourhoods. Split into the community infrastructure grant and the community capacity building grants, and with the objective of bolstering community life and addressing local needs, these funds provide a vital resource for groups dedicated to enhancing wellbeing and fostering community engagement.

Herefordshire Together: Community Paradigm Showcase
On Thursday 16th May, Herefordshire Community Partnership will be hosting the Herefordshire Together: Community Paradigm Showcase. Held at Hereford Football Club, Edgar Street, the event will be a great opportunity for members of the voluntary and community sector to find out about the progress Herefordshire has made developing the community paradigm approach (and what the plans are for the coming 12 months), and hear from the organisations who were successful in their Herefordshire Together funding bids.

Solihull Approach Moving Up: New resources to support smooth school transitions and wellbeing in school children and their parents
Moving up and changing school is a big change for children and parents or caregivers. It’s a new stage of growing independence and separation. Fears and worries are normal as well as excitement. As parents, your role is to help children cope with and overcome their fears, to nurture them to feel brave and capable. New football team for women aged 16+
Hereford Lads Club is putting together a women’s football team for the 2024/25 season. Training sessions are every Friday from 7.00pm – 8.00pm at the Hereford Lads Club, Widemarsh Common. All levels of experience are welcome. Players must be aged 16+ years. Matches will be played on Sundays once the season starts.

Peer support for men in Leominster (get the kettle on)
A new friendly peer support group has been launched for men of all ages in Leominster. Relate Now meet monthly, bringing together like-minded individuals who may be feeling lonely and struggling with low mood. The group meet at The Rankin in Corn Square on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, offering a safe space for people to come together, to talk or play board games (there’s something to do even if you don’t feel like chatting).

Protect yourself and others from whooping cough
Whooping cough cases are on the rise both nationally and locally. Whooping cough is a bacterial infection which affects the lungs and is highly infectious. All pregnant women and parents with young children are being urged to check their vaccination status and to contact their midwife, or GP practice if they need to catch up.
