All you need to know about the MMR vaccine
The MMR vaccine is a safe and effective combined vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella.
Measles can spread very easily among those who are unvaccinated, especially in nurseries and schools. Being in certain risk groups such as babies, young children and pregnant women makes you more likely to develop complications from measles.
It is never too late to catch up on your vaccines. Anyone of any age can take their MMR vaccine if it has been missed. If you are unsure of your/your child's vaccination status, you can check your Red Book, the NHS app or contact your GP to find out. See the NHS website on MMR vaccines for more information.
The BECC family centre is hosting a MMR vaccine pop up session on Tuesday 2 April, 9am-3pm. Please call 0300 555 5055 to book your place.

Bowel cancer screening can save lives when detecting cancer early. A simple FIT test can spot any early signs of bowel cancer quickly and discretely. If you are aged 54-74, make sure to take up your FIT test now. Visit the NHS website for more information on bowel cancer screening.
There are potential risk factors for bowel cancer, such as age, family history of cancer or other health problems. However, leading a healthy lifestyle can help reduce your risk. Learn more about reducing the risk of developing bowel cancer.
