Planning Committee last night (Thursday 10 February) approved plans for a new splash zone as part of the next phase of improvements at Meadow Park in Borehamwood.
This follows on from the council’s Executive group who approved designs and funding for the splash zone on Wednesday, 9 February.
The proposed splash zone includes 23 in-ground jets from arching features to crawl under to large columns of water to run or jump through. There is also a Hula Spray, which forms a circular water jail, and a number of Hydro Blast’s including a fountain like spray in the centre which reaches 3.5m high – are you brave enough!
In 2018, the council completed phase one of the parks improvements project. This included establishing an inclusive toddler play area and large landscaped activity area for older children, creating a fitness zone, installing electronic interactive play equipment, creating new footpaths across the park to improve access and new entrance barriers to prevent unauthorised vehicle access and landscaping.
Our newly resurfaced tennis courts, basketball court and Multi Use Games Area are already welcoming players. To book these courts please visit www.clubspark.lta.org.uk/MeadowParkBorehamwood
