The by election for the Borehamwood Kenilworth Ward takes place on Thursday 13 February, so make sure your name is on the register so you can have your say and vote.
Only residents who live in the Borehamwood Kenilworth Ward are eligible to vote in this by election. The deadline for registering is midnight on Tuesday 28 January. If you have not yet registered to vote, have recently moved house or turned 18, you will need to register in order to be able to vote. The quickest and easiest way to register is online at: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Voting in person at a polling station
If you want to vote in person and are registered, a poll card will be sent to you by 21 January. If you have not received a poll card please contact our Electoral Services team on 020 8207 7481 or email elections@hertsmere.gov.uk. The card tells you where you should vote – you can only vote at your allocated polling station. You do not need your poll card to vote.
Voting by post
If you are registered for a postal vote you will be sent your ballot paper around 31 January, you will need to post it back to us by 10pm on Thursday 13 February for it to be counted.
To vote by post you need to apply, and forms have to be completed and returned by 5pm on Wednesday 29 January.
Voting by proxy
Proxy voting means another person can vote on your behalf. To vote by proxy, you will have completed a form and returned it to the Electoral Services team by 5pm on Wednesday 5 February.
You can have someone vote on your behalf if: • You will be away on holiday • You have to work away from home • You are ill or in hospital.
