A free event is being held this week for Hertsmere residents aged 60 or over to learn more on how to stay safe inside and outside the home and how to keep healthy and well.

This Older Persons' Awareness and Learning (OPAL) event, organised by Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, will include information and advice from a range of services and will be held on Friday 2 November. The event will run from 10am until 2pm at Windsor Hall, Blythe Close in Borehamwood.

Free refreshments and a hot meal will be provided on the day by Herts Independent Living Service.
