Older People's Day and Silver Sunday 2018 celebration grant

We are proud to be supporting Older People’s Day (1 October) and Silver Sunday (7 October). 

 The main aim of Older People’s Day is to celebrate the achievements and contributions that older people make to our society.  Silver Sunday is another national celebration, through free activities, of older people and their contribution to communities.

 To celebrate these two days, we are pleased to announce that we have grants of up to £300 available to community groups and voluntary organisations to hold events or arrange a trip between 1 October and 7 October 2018 for residents aged 65 or over.  There are lots of activities that a grant could be used for from tea dances to sporting activities even a day trip somewhere.
