Have you thought about getting more involved in the Shenley community? If so, why not think about becoming a Shenley Parish Councillor?

Hertsmere Borough Council manage the election process on behalf of the borough, town and parish councils within Hertsmere.

Parish councillors are people elected to represent their local community in the running of their parish council. Shenley Parish Council is independent from the borough council and oversees a variety of programmes and projects, including organising social events for senior citizens, supporting local community groups, maintaining some play areas and allotments, as well as representing Shenley’s interests to a wide-range of public bodies.

The deadline for nominations is 4pm on Friday 1 June.

The date for the by-election for Shenley Parish Council has been set for Thursday 28 June.

Are you registered to vote?
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Tuesday 12 June. Applications can be made online

Voting by post
To register for a postal vote, or to change an existing postal or proxy vote, you must apply to the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 13 June.

Voting by proxy
Proxy voting means another person can vote on your behalf. To vote by proxy, you will have completed a form and returned it to the Electoral Services team by 5pm on Wednesday 20 June.
