Salary £40,025 - £45,480 per annum

Hertsmere is located in southern Hertfordshire – we are 13 miles from Central London and within the M25.  We adjoin Greater London with excellent road and rail links making London and the Home Counties easily accessible. The Council Offices are situated in Borehamwood within Zone 6 and with a direct rail link into London Kings Cross St. Pancras.  The area is an internationally renowned centre for film and television production, home to BBC Elstree and Elstree Studios (a council owned asset).
Hertsmere Borough Council is seeking to appoint a Housing Strategy Manager to deliver the housing elements of the Council’s 2020 vision and Corporate Plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop a new strategic approach to housing in Hertsmere, working in collaboration with other districts, housing providers developers and partners to increase the delivery of new affordable homes, make best use of existing housing stock and manage the Council’s supply of temporary accommodation.

Offering a fresh and innovative approach you will be formulating strategies and policies in relation to all areas of housing, and working with the Housing Operations Manager on the development of a new Housing & Homelessness Strategy for the Borough.

You will be working strategically at a senior level with partners from a range of sectors, including housing, health, social care, private sector developers and registered providers to ensure that the housing and support needs of people living in Hertsmere are met.
 
We are looking for somebody with extensive experience in housing, an understanding of current National housing policy issues and the ability to transform this into local strategies. Managing the private sector and temporary accommodation teams you will need to have a good working knowledge of housing law and practice and be able to manage these services effectively. 

The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).
