The council’s award-winning We Move, She Moves programme is looking for help from Hertsmere residents to bag it a massive cash boost by voting at Tesco stores.
The We Move, She Moves initiative was set up to get women and girls in Hertsmere more active by arranging activities for women to join in each week, regardless of age, ability and fitness levels. The aim is to persuade women to try something new.
The campaign is one of the groups on the shortlist to receive money from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores awarded to local community projects.
However, the initiative will only be successful if shoppers vote while visiting stores at Potters Bar and Shenley.
The grant would be used to deliver Learn to Run courses in Shenley and Potters Bar.
Funding is available to community groups and charities looking to fund local projects that bring benefits to communities. Anyone can nominate a project and organisations can apply online. To find out more visit www.tesco.com/bagsofhelp.
