Meadow Park

See for yourself the exciting plans for Meadow Park in Borehamwood.

Hertsmere Borough Council has a 'fly-through' visual of the redesigned park based in the heart of the town, which will create a lively outdoor space with a focus on sports, fitness and play. Visit www.youtube.com/HertsmereBC to see the animation, as well as other council films.

The plans will improve the existing play area, keep the weekend football provision, but also create a new interesting play space. At the centre of the new play area is ‘Planet Meadow Space Ship’ which stands nearly 8m tall, alongside a social group swing, double cableway, rope swing, bridge and spinning items. There will also be a trampoline trail, with a ground level trampoline accessible for wheelchair users.

As well as upgrading the play area and building a new facility, the plans also include creating new paths connecting all the main entrances, a tree-lined greenway across the park, glow in the dark technology in the path surface to aid usability and another CCTV camera.

The initial phase, to be completed in summer 2018, would include improvements to the play facilities, new footpaths, entrance barriers to prevent unauthorised vehicle access and landscaping.

The second phase would include installing an outdoor fitness zone, an additional free to use sports court, more interactive equipment and additional landscaping.

The final phase would see entrance improvements, a café, parking, public toilets and signage.

Work is hoped to be completed by summer 2019. To see the video visit: https://youtu.be/9XYJzp61zR4
