Borehamwood councillor steps down

Due to work commitments outside of the area, Thomas Ash has stepped down as a borough councillor for Borehamwood Kenilworth ward.  

Mr Ash was a Conservative councillor and was elected to Hertsmere Borough Council in May 2015.  

Hertsmere Borough Council's Chief Executive, Donald Graham, said: “We thank Mr Ash for his time as a local councillor and wish him well in the future.” 

Leader of the Council and Leader of the Conservative Group, Councillor Morris Bright, said: "Thomas has worked hard to represent local residents in his ward and has input some innovative ideas during his time as a borough councillor.  

"I wish Thomas well for the future and I've passed on our thanks for his efforts during his time as a borough councillor.” 

In his resignation letter, Mr Ash commented: "I would very much like to use this opportunity to convey my heartfelt appreciation for the good work carried out by officers and elected members on behalf of the residents of Hertsmere.  The council has effected a great deal of positive change for the borough in a difficult economic climate and this is a credit to the hard work of those involved."
