
A whole host
of local projects have received a much-needed boost thanks to financial
contributions from borough councillors.
Our Ward Improvement Initiative Scheme (WIIS) gives each of our 39 councillors
£500 to spend on local projects throughout the year.
Our Ward
Improvement Initiative Scheme is all about funding small projects in local
areas to benefit active communities.
Councillor David Lambert from Aldenham West borough council ward has allocated
£200 to Aldenham Parish Council to buy outdoor gym equipment for Phillimore
Recreation Ground. He has also provided £250 to Radlett's Tabard
Rugby Club enabling them to buy replacement equipment.
Councillor Michelle Vince from Borehamwood Cowley Hill ward has provided a
local drop-in session for mainly elderly residents with £200 to provide a
regular chair-based exercise class for the group.
Councillors Susan Brown, Rabbi Alan Plancey and Gary Silver from Borehamwood
Brookmeadow ward and Cllr Victor Eni from Borehamwood Kenilworth ward
have together allocated £700 to the local Rotary Club which
will go towards hall hire for the annual schools' art exhibition.
Councillor Caroline Clapper from Aldenham West ward has provided Fair
Field Junior School with £450 to go towards replacement logs
for their adventure trail.
Councillor Susan Brown From Borehamwood Brookmeadow ward has allocated £300 to
Fairbrook medical centre to enable them to host coffee mornings for patients
and carers to promote wellbeing.
Councillor Meenal Sachdev from Borehamwood Hillside ward has given £285 to the
Herts Inclusive Theatre to enable the group to run a two-hour free theatre and
drama workshop over Easter.
