We are proud supporters of Food Waste Action Week (9 - 15 March). Making the most of your food is easier than you think – it's good for your pocket AND our planet.
This week, we're challenging you to:
🍳 Remix yesterday's dinner into today's lunch
📝 Plan your meals ahead to buy only what you need
🌱Store food properly to make it last longer
Small changes make a big difference. Together, we can reduce waste, save money and protect our environment.

The Great British Spring Clean will take place from 13 to 29 March and is the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign. Why not get involved and help protect your local green spaces?
There are lots of ways to take part: • Join an organised litter‑picking event • Team up with a local litter‑picking group • Or simply pick up a few bits of litter while you’re out and about.
Don’t forget to bring along your reusable water bottles and coffee cups to help cut down on single‑use waste too. Every small action makes a big difference.

Celebrating Mother's Day? Here’s how to dispose of your Mother’s Day waste and make sure you Recycle Right:
♻️ Cards and envelopes can go straight into your recycling bin! 🎁 Please only recycle plain brown paper. All other wrapping paper should go in your general waste bin for energy recovery. 🍬 Soft plastics (like sweet wrappers and plastic packaging) can’t currently be recycled in Hampshire, so pop these in your general waste bin. 💐 Cut flowers can be composted or added to your garden waste bin. No compost bin? No problem - use your general waste bin.

Global Recycling Day takes place on Wednesday 18 March! It is a day to help recognise and celebrate the importance recycling plays in preserving our primary resources and securing the future of our planet.
Currently in Hampshire, only the following five items can be placed in your recycling bin at home:
- Paper
- Card
- Aerosols
- Tins and cans
- Plastic bottles
Not sure what to do with your household waste? Use Hampshire County Council's household waste tool to find out!
