Consultation on the Emsworth and Hayling Island Community Governance Reviews (CGR) is now live - residents, workers and visitors to both areas are encouraged to have their say on the future of community governance in these areas.

This statutory process allows the council to consider whether changes are needed to the way local communities are represented and governed.

The reviews will look at whether new parish councils should be created for Emsworth and/or Hayling Island, whether alternative forms of community representation would be more appropriate or whether no change to local governance is preferred.

Staying flood aware

With January and February bringing higher than usual rainfall, and more wet weather expected, several flood warnings are currently in place across Hampshire.

The environment agency has several online tools to help people check if their home or property is at risk of flooding.

Check current flood warnings and alerts alongside the flood risk for the next five days.

Are you registered to vote?

Voters in the Borough of Havant are being reminded to make sure they are registered to vote so they can take part in electing their new Borough Ward and Hampshire County division councillors on Thursday 7 May 2026. 

It’s quick and easy to register to vote, but it must be done before the deadline of midnight on Monday 20 April. 

Research shows that young people, students and recent home movers are particularly less likely to be registered to vote. So, if you fall into one of these categories it is doubly important to make sure, you’re registered correctly. 

It takes around five minutes to register – just make sure you have your National Insurance number to hand. It is easy to register online via the Government's Register to vote webpage, or you can download a paper form from GOV.UK's Register to vote (paper forms) webpage.
