Some items often sneak into the recycling bins — but they don’t belong there. To recycle right, stick to these five approved items:
♻️ Tins & Cans
♻️ Plastic Bottles
♻️ Aerosols

Don’t risk a fine — protect yourself by following the S.C.R.A.P. code when disposing of waste:
♻️ Suspect all waste carriers. Always ask for their waste carrier licence.
♻️ Check they’re registered—use the Environment Agency’s tool.
♻️ Refuse unexpected offers to take your rubbish away.
♻️ Ask how your waste will be disposed of.
♻️ Paperwork is essential—get a proper invoice or waste transfer note.

Have any of your batteries run out? Not sure what to do with them?
Batteries must never go in your bins as they are a serious fire risk to our vehicles and crews.
Please take them to collection points in shops instead, or to your Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Electronics such as old toys, string lights and appliances also present a fire risk and must not go in any of your bins! Donate if in good condition, or take to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.
