 M27 Junction 10 Improvement Scheme
The M27 will be fully closed in both directions between Junctions 9 (Whiteley) and 11 (Fareham) from 8pm on 24 December 2025 to 4am on 4 January 2026. Highways crews will be working 24/7 to install a new four-lane underpass using an innovative ‘box slide’ technique, avoiding what would otherwise be months of disruption on the motorway.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A27, expected to be busy, especially between 10am and 4pm daily. Road users should plan their journey in advance and consider alternatives including public transport, travelling during less busy times, using different routes, or if their journey is really necessary.
Christmas opening times for our services
There are changes to some of our services and opening hours over the festive period.
For services delivered by Hampshire County Council and Havant Borough Council - the Plaza building will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Friday 2 January 2026, otherwise open as normal.
Although the offices will be closed on Friday 2 January 2026, if you are homeless or at risk of homelessness you can contact us on 023 9244 6379 or by emailing: housingservices2@havant.gov.uk
If you need to contact us for any service provided to you outside of office hours and it cannot wait until the next working day, there is a limited emergency out-of-hours service. Please call our main switchboard on 023 9244 6019.
Re-apply for a postal vote before the deadline
Following recent changes to the Elections Act, a voter can hold a postal vote for a maximum period of three years.
All electors who had a postal vote in place prior to 30 January 2024 will need to re-apply before the deadline of 31 January 2026.
An email has been sent to postal voters who have provided us with their email address, with details of how to renew their postal vote application. Those who have not provided their email address have been contacted by post.
