Recycling more plastic with new bins
Havant Borough Council has now introduced new public recycling bins throughout the borough to help expand upon the range of household plastics that are currently collected with home recycling collections.
Plastic pots, tubs and trays can now be taken to one of five sites in the borough for recycling. This is in support of the Simpler Recycling policy introduced by central government to make recycling simpler and enabling householders to recycle as much waste as possible.
 Annual Canvass
This is a reminder to residents that the Annual Canvass has started.
Households have been sent Canvass Communication A letter (CCA) or a Canvass Communication B letter (CCB).
If you receive a CCA, you will ONLY need to respond if any of the details has changed.
If you receive a CCB, you WILL need to respond even if all the details are correct.
Changes can be made easily online at http://www.householdresponse.com/havant, by phone 0800 8840701, or by text 80212 using the two-part security code included in the letter. Alternatively, you can complete and return the letter in the post, using the pre-paid envelope provided.
Installation of CCTV cameras in Leigh Park and Havant
New CCTV cameras have been installed in Leigh Park and Havant as part of Havant Borough Council’s work to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB).
A mixture of static and deployable cameras have been installed at 12 sites across the borough, including in the Greywell Shopping Centre, Leigh Park Library, Tidworth Road car park, Havant Park, and Market Parade.
The locations for the cameras were chosen based on ASB data, and the locations of the deployable cameras will be regularly reviewed to ensure they are targeted at the right areas.
Have a fun-filled day at Havant Fayre!
