Looking to cut down on plastic waste? Here are five simple swaps you can make:
1️⃣ Ditch single-use bottles – carry a reusable water bottle. 2️⃣ Go package-free – choose loose fruit & veg when shopping. 3️⃣ Bring your own bags – reusable totes are a great option! 4️⃣ Switch to bar soap – a small change with a big impact. 5️⃣ Store smart – use reusable containers for leftovers.

If you are thinking of cooling off at the beach, please make sure you are disposing of litter responsibly. Left behind and dropped litter not only spoils the enjoyment for other people, but it could also injure someone or wildlife.
If you discover a bin that is full, please find another bin close by, or take your litter home. Please do not leave your rubbish next to the bin, as this encourages pests to make a mess.
|
Extra bins have been placed along the seafront to help with the additional rubbish. These are emptied regularly throughout the day.

🚫 Think before you leave it!
Leaving items next to donation or charity banks is fly-tipping—and it's illegal.
✅ If the bank is full, take your items home or find another donation point like a local charity shop.
🗑️ Your waste is your responsibility. Make sure it's disposed of correctly.

Love Parks Week takes place from 25 July to 3 August - a celebration highlighting the vital role green spaces play in boosting the health and wellbeing of residents and communities.
Heading to the park this Love Parks Week? Don't forget your reusables! Swapping single-use coffee cups and plastic bottles for reusables is a small change that makes a big difference.

Got any empty spray bottles? Don’t toss them!
Spray bottles are recyclable! — just give them a quick rinse and leave to dry before popping them in your recycling bin.
|
|
|
🧴Recycle plastic bottles in your household bin! From shampoo to shower gel, all plastic bottles can be recycled (just remember that any pots, tubs or trays cannot currently be recycled at home in Hampshire).
🧴 Check local recycling schemes! Some supermarkets and other shops like Boots offer a makeup & toiletry recycling service.
🧴 Repurpose or re-use! If you can't find a recycling outlet for an item why not see if you can re-purpose it or use it for something else!
|
|
|
To recycle right in Hampshire, only these five items should go in your recycling bin:
✅ Tins & cans ✅ Plastic bottles ✅ Aerosols ✅ Paper ✅ Card
Putting the wrong items in can cause contamination and waste valuable resources. If in doubt, check our website for guidance!
