M27 Junction 10 Upgrade – Sign up for updates
Hampshire County Council, working closely with National Highways, is upgrading the M27 Junction 10 to support the new Welborne Garden Village. The scheme includes a new underpass, improved motorway access, and enhanced walking and cycling routes.
To construct the underpass, a giant concrete box is currently being constructed alongside the motorway. This will be slid into place under the M27 using an innovative engineering technique box slide method. This will significantly reduce the overall disruption to road users, but it will require a full closure of the M27 between Junctions 9 and 11 over the Christmas and New Year period, during the school holidays whilst traffic volumes are lower.
Closure dates and travel advice will be confirmed later this year once plans are finalised.
Updates will be provided online, through social media and local news media. You can also subscribe to the scheme’s e-newsletter.
Final week to have your say on the Local Plan
There is one week remaining on the Building a Better Future Plan consultation – don’t miss your chance to shape the development of the borough!
Otherwise known as the Local Plan, this sets out a vision for the future development of our area and covers everything from housing, new jobs and regeneration of town centres, to addressing climate change and the protection of nature and green spaces.
Alongside this, we are also consulting on the Waterlooville Town Centre SPD and St. Faith’s Conservation Area Review.
To find out more information and to take part, visit: www.havant.gov.uk/localplan
The closing date is midnight on Tuesday 1 July.
 Local good causes win
More than £301,000 has been raised for local good causes through the Havant Borough Community Lottery since it launched.
The lottery was set up by Havant Borough Council in April 2018 as a way to raise money for local groups. For each £1 ticket bought online, 60p goes straight back to local registered clubs and charities.
