Improving your energy efficiency

If you’re struggling to keep your home warm, Hampshire County Council run a free advice phone line for residents.

They can help with:

• switching your energy provider or tariff
• benefits and debt advice
• ‘safe and well’ visits by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service
• eligibility checks for the Warm Home Discount and local energy efficiency schemes
• temporary heating measures
• help to access funding, where available, for boiler repairs and replacements

Help replenish food bank supplies

After the surge of donations in the run up to Christmas and early in the New Year, February is a month when food banks need support.

So, if you can afford to, while you are loading up your supermarket trolley, please pop in some items for your local food bank.

Extra support available for eligible pensioners

If you're over State Pension age (66 or above), you could qualify for Pension Credit, which is worth more that £4,200 per year on average.

Pension Credit gives you extra money to help with your living costs if you’re on a low income, and can help with housing costs like ground rent or service charges.

Eligible claims can also be backdated by up to three months. Even a small award can unlock additional benefits including valuable heating support.

Transport for the South East are refreshing their Transport Strategy and they need your help!

Take part in their public consultation to have your say on the challenges and priorities surrounding transport.

The consultation will run until Friday 7 March 2025.

To celebrate the launch of our new Climate Change and Biodiversity Strategies, we are thrilled to team up with The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre, in Havant, to launch our photography competition. 

Take your best shot of our borough’s stunning landscapes, local wildlife, or community climate initiatives, we want to see your perspective through your lens!  

Garden Waste

Did you know that we can take your garden waste?

This paid-for service is a fuss-free way to get your garden waste collected, rather than taking it to a Household Waste Recycling Centre or having to arrange for a licensed waste carrier.

Yearly subscription sign-ups for the 2025/26 service will open mid-February, and we are pleased to say the price starts at less than a one pound a week for a small wheeled bin.  

Park. Pay. Get on with your day

You can use your smartphone to pay for parking with RingGo across the Borough of Havant.

Simply download the free RingGo parking app from the App Store or Google Play Store for the fastest parking payment. Once registered, you can get parked and pay in just a few taps!

If you’re not a smartphone user, you can still use RingGo to pay for your parking by calling 01708 201 311.

RingGo is used throughout the UK - find your nearest locations.

Polling place review

A public consultation is being held, prior to seeking Council approval on the potential of using three new venues as polling stations in the wards of Emsworth and Stakes.

The consultation will run until 5pm, Friday 7 February 2025 and welcomes representations and views from any interested party, or registered elector that wishes to comment on any aspect of the polling places and/or polling stations proposed.
