 Corporate Strategy
The new Corporate Strategy is now at the forefront of how the council will prioritise its services, with the views and needs of residents firmly at its core.
The strategy maintains the established key themes of Wellbeing, Pride in Place and Growth, but in direct response to feedback in this year’s Residents’ Survey, the theme ‘A Responsive Council’ has been introduced.
Help spread the word about Pension Credit
Do you know someone of State Pension Age (66+) on a low income who would welcome extra money and support with heating costs, including the Winter Fuel Payment?
This could be you, a parent, grandparent, friend or neighbour. Pension Credit is worth, on average, £3,900 per year and unlocks additional support including help with Council Tax, NHS dental care and for those over 75, a free TV licence.
Check if you, or someone you know is eligible by visiting www.gov.uk/pension-credit or calling 0800 99 1234.
 Priority services
Did you know you can register for priority services with your electricity, water or gas suppliers in case services are interrupted this winter. It means you'll get extra help or priority if there are disruptions. You could be eligible if you:
- have reached your state pension age
- are disabled or have a long-term medical condition
- are recovering from an injury
- have a hearing or sight condition
- have a mental health condition
- are pregnant or have young children
- have extra communication needs, such as if you don’t speak or read English well
Vulnerable usually includes people who get their pension, have young children, are disabled, are pregnant or have a long-term medical condition. Check if you'd be eligible.
Pay your respects to fallen heroes
People in borough will remember its fallen heroes at an event this Remembrance Sunday.
St Faith's Church in Havant Town Centre will again host the poignant Remembrance Sunday event on November 10.
A parade will assemble in Brockhampton Lane before marching at 10:40am to the War Memorial in West Street, to honour those who have served and are currently serving in our armed forces.
Other parades and services will be taking place around the borough.
