Health and Social Care Skills Bootcamps
Itchen College are running skill boot camps to support new entrants/early career development in the childcare field.
Benefits to Learners: - A comprehensive training package - 1:1 support and mentoring - Guaranteed interviews( for unemployed learners) - Additional support with Employability skills - Support to apply for roles, practice interviews and help to highlight your many skills and qualities - If you are unemployed, employed but ready for career change or an employer recruiting an individual who has completed a Skills Bootcamp, there is no cost.

 Itchen's Skills Bootcamps align with the Care Certificate covering essential topics such as dementia care, safeguarding, COSHH, food hygiene, mental health awareness, nutrition, first aid and data confidentiality.
Starting: 9th September 2024. This course runs Monday-Friday 9.30-2.30 for three weeks (9th September - 27th September)

Hospitality Skills Bootcamp
This Skills Bootcamp is designed to accelerate the development of individuals to gain roles in the hospitality industry whilst providing a qualification in the Level 3 Award in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Principles.
Suitable for individuals over 19 with the right to work in the UK living in England.
You will learn:
- Supervision of Operations in the Hospitality Industry
-Beverage Services (Barista Training)
-Principles of Customer Services
-Principles of Leading a Team
-Employability Skills

Skills for Life - Multiply
Multiply can help you to upskill, reskill or learn something new. With a range of courses available, anyone can reach their full potential. All sessions are tailored to suit individual needs.
Essential Numeracy Course The learning journey begins with an Essential Numeracy course - an introduction to the maths principles that will be taught on the Functional Skills courses. An initial assessment will be carried out and this will determine at which course level the learner can start.
Entry Levels 1/2/3 These levels will underpin the basic maths skills appropriate to the level, and the ability to apply mathematical thinking to solve simple problems in familiar situations. Achievement of these qualifications can provide the skills for further study at Levels 1 and 2.

Functional Skills Level 1/2 Functional Skills Mathematics for Level 1 and Level 2 are a qualification for work, study and life. Achievement of these qualifications demonstrates a sound grasp of mathematical skills at each level. These courses will give you the ability to apply mathematical thinking effectively to solve problems in the workplace and in other real-life situations. Functional Skills 1 & 2 courses can be delivered either online or in a face-to-face setting (subject to qualification level and learning needs).

SERT - Retrofit Training Course
Electrical Programme: 9-10 days, Monday – Friday in our Electrical Training Centre PO15 7AL. Developing qualifications 18th Edition and Domestic Electrical Installer. A perfect course to test the waters for a career as an electrician developing both practical skills and theoretical understanding. Following completion of this course, we will be setting up interviews with local employers to explore potential next steps for successful learners. With recognised prior learning learners are attractive to employers but cannot make any employment guarantees.
Retrofit Advisor: Up to 16 weeks of online training and assessments including a live session. Developing Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit and Level 3 Award in Domestic Retrofit Advice. This course is perfect for people looking to advise homeowners on energy savings or join a sales team working in the renewable sectors.

These skills are crucial in both personal and professional settings, as they enable us to navigate social situations, enjoy being with others, and resolve conflicts in the workplace or at home.
IT for Beginners - a 2-week course 16th - 27th September 9.30-2.45pm
Are you looking to learn basic IT skills and become more confident using computers? This course will take you through a range of IT skills leaving you with the ability to use computers for personal and professional projects.
Feeling Good About Your Wellbeing - a 3 day course 30th September - 2nd October 9.30-2.45pm
Do you have an interest in developing knowledge of your own and others’ well-being? This course explores the topics of stress management, mental health, healthy eating and alcohol awareness.
