Community First 

Course: Motivation and Goal Setting

Course dates: 

13th and 14th February 10:00-13:00

Training:

This course will explore effective ways of goal setting and how you can motivate yourself in order to achieve the goals you have set and stay motivated to achieve other goals you have identified.

AIMS/OBJECTIVES
• Know how to set goals and stay motivated to see them through.
• Identify what goals you have
• Learn how to set goals that are achievable
• Become aware of what resources are available that will help you achieve their goals

COURSE ELIGIBILITY:
This course is being offered free with the funding we receive from Hampshire Learns to adults aged 19+ whose home address is in Hampshire and who can meet one of the following criteria:

• Do not have a full Level 2 qualification
• In receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit
• Families with school age children in receipt of free school meals
• Have a learning difficulty and/or disability
• Who are at risk of/have mental health needs
• Earn less than £20,319 annual gross salary
• Have refugee status

Course: Positive Thinking and Building Resilience

Course: 

This course will help those that wish to improve their resilience to these challenges by developing positive coping strategies.
It will help you understand strategies and learn exercises that will enhance and promote your Positive Thinking leading towards Enhanced Resilience in responding to lives challenges and setbacks.

AIMS/OBJECTIVES
• Feel more resilient in the face of setbacks.
• Developed at least two positive coping strategies when facing problems
• Learn at least two strategies that promote resilience

Are you looking for employment?

The course will cover key skills for working in these sectors; an introduction to working in retail and hospitality, customer service, key skills and
qualities, teamwork, communication skills, creating a good impression on
customers and dealing with customers appropriately.

Course is suitable for those 19+ looking to gain skills in customer service ready to enter or re-enter a career in the retail or hospitality industry. 

Interviews with businesses will be part of the course.

SERT - Retrofit Training Course Electrical Programme: 9-10 days, Monday – Friday in our Electrical Training Centre PO15 7AL. Developing qualifications 18th Edition and Domestic Electrical Installer. A perfect course to test the waters for a career as an electrician developing both practical skills and theoretical understanding. Following completion of this course, we will be setting up interviews with local employers to explore potential next steps for successful learners. With recognised prior learning learners are attractive to employers but cannot make any employment guarantees.   Retrofit Advisor: Up to 16 weeks of online training and assessments including a live session. Developing Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit and Level 3 Award in Domestic Retrofit Advice. This course is perfect for people looking to advise homeowners on energy savings or join a sales team working in the renewable sectors.

Havant and South Downs College

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Sector-Based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) HSDC College

Course dates: 14^th- 27^th February 2024 (10-day course), 9:30am-2:30pm

Interviews: March 2024

Location: Online, via Google Classroom/Google Meet

We are seeking highly motivated and forward-thinking individuals to join our successful Learning Support Assistants team at our HSDC South Downs Campus. The primary function of this role is to provide a high quality pro-active academic and pastoral learning support service for learners who have Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Training: Upon successful completion of the course, you will gain the following qualifications:

Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties

Level 1 Certificate in Wellbeing

Entry 3 Award in Fundamental British Values

To be eligible for this training programme, you will need to be 19+, in receipt of an income-based benefit, and have obtained a minimum of Level 1 in English (equivalent to GCSE 3/D-G). You will also need to have your own laptop/desktop computer to use for the duration of the course.
