Adult Social Care (Itchen College)

Training: An introduction to working in the care sector, effective communication skills, teamwork, support to apply and interview for the roles which interest you.

It doesn't matter about your background or how old you are, if you want to help people there's a role for you. You don’t necessarily need any qualifications or previous work experience. What’s important is your values and attitude. You'll be helping people to live more independently and have a better quality of life.

IT Digital Support – Getting to know the basics (Community First)
Course date: 9th and 16th November 2023 14:00-17:00
Location: Heart in the Park, Dunsbury Way, Havant, PO9 5BG
This course is suitable for any adults 19+ wanting to learn the basics on any digital advice.
Bring your own laptop, iPad or smart phone.

By the end of the course you will learn:
Basic controls / settings
Use and download apps from you relevant store
Basic internet searches and managing your history and searches
Using your camera and accessing / storing photos on your device

GCS Virtual Workshops
All workshops will be held over Zoom and are suitable for learners 19+.
Create Your Own Confidence
5x weeks every Monday starting 06/11/23 from 18:00-20:30
Supporting you to build confidence through craft, creativity and expression, whilst developing strategies to overcome barriers.

Preparing For Work
3x weeks every Monday starting 20/11/23 from 09:30-13:30
Support with application forms, creating a CV, preparing interviews, having a professional approach and setting a personal plan to gain employment.

Leigh Park Learning Centre (Havant and South Downs Adult Education)
Managing money:
This qualification is designed to enable the learner to gain a better understanding of personal finance and the products and services which can positively and negatively affect it. This includes:
Knowledge of financial products and services, such as personal pensions, insurance, and bank or building society accounts
The knowledge required to manage their personal finances, an understanding of the risks to personal finances, and be able to compare goods, products and services They will also find out about credit scores and how these can be damaged and improved.
Interpersonal skills:
This qualification is designed to introduce learners to interpersonal skills for use in work, learning or personal situations. It will give learners an understanding of a range of interpersonal skills, how they’re used and how these skills can help them to work effectively with others and build positive relationships. The qualification will also increase learners’ self-awareness to aid their personal development.

Wellbeing:
This qualification aims to develop the learner’s understanding of a variety of well-being topics and the impact they can have. For example, an understanding of the impact lifestyle choices can have and how they can make informed, healthy choices.
27th November to 1st December 9.30-2.45pm. Learners can attend just 1 or 2 days or all week.
