All you need to know about bins this Christmas

Christmas collections

There will be no changes to bin collection days throughout the festive season, even if your usual collection day falls on a bank holiday.

Please continue to have your bin out ready for collection by 7am.

Let others know

If you have neighbours, friends and/or family members who may not have access to the web, please consider printing off a copy of our Christmas message and giving it to them in a card or in person.

Garden Waste

Garden waste collections will be suspended weeks commencing Monday 27 December 2021 and Monday 3 January 2022.

The service will resume from Monday 10 January.

Recycling real Christmas trees

Once the festivities are over - and your real Christmas tree is looking slightly sad and limp - simply put it in your Garden Waste bin and it will be collected. Trees should be no taller than 6 feet (1.8m) tall, with trunks no greater than 3 inches (15cm) in diameter. Please cut to size before placing in your wheeled bin.

If you don't subscribe to our collection service you can recycle trees at your local recycling centre.

After the presents have been unwrapped and the food is eaten, the Christmas holidays often leave us with a lot of rubbish – or is it recycling?

Recycling centres

Looking to visit one of the recycling centres over the festive season?

Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day Day: Closed

All other days, Monday to Sunday 9am - 4pm: Open

All residents must book an appointment to visit any Hampshire HWRC.

Hampshire residents must register their vehicles online before their next visit for continued free access to HWRCs. Register your vehicle here

Calendars for 2022

New rubbish and recycling bin collection calendars for 2022 are now available on our website.

If you want to see your bin collections for the next twelve months, just pop across to our bin collections webpage to view or download your calendar.

Your collection day will remain the same in 2022 as it has been in 2021.
