Approved by You Funding Opportunity – expressions of interest invited.
Each year Havant Borough Council run the “Approved by You Grants Scheme” offering local groups and organisations who support young people in the borough the opportunity to receive one of three small grant awards, 1 x £2,500, 1 x £1,000 and 1 x £500. The highlight of this scheme is that local young people are the final decision makers, taking part in a voting activity at the annual Youth Conference held on Friday 23rd March. The final three organisations are invited to share their ideas with young people at the Conference, before the voting takes place and the results are then announced.
This year we are inviting local organisations to submit an expression of interest for a chance to become one of the three organisations chosen to present at the Conference. Grants can be used creatively and flexibly to support projects, services and activities which help support local young people – the grant aims to offer added value to existing projects or activities, or can be used to develop and deliver new ideas. There is no set criteria, however when shortlisting priority will be given to ideas which can demonstrate the following: promoting positive mental health and wellbeing, encouraging physical activity and participation, ideas designed by young people, supporting vulnerable young people, offering excellent impact and value for money.
