Hastings Pride 2023
Stay safe at Pride
If you are planning on having a few drinks during the celebrations, stay out of the water, you'd be quackers to go in!
Southern Water update
At the Full Council meeting on 19 July, Cllr Paul Barnett, leader of the council, read out a letter he was sending to Southern Water seeking a far more co-operative and transparent approach to the issues Southern Water are dealing with in Hastings.
We have agreed with Southern Water to share important and relevant information with residents through this newsletter on a regular basis, to help make sure that you are kept up-to-date with work they are doing and other updates. We are reliant on Southern Water sharing relevant data with us and will continue to press them for timely updates.
The latest update is below:

Opportunity for temporary work
We’re recruiting personal canvassers for the annual canvass this autumn. This is our annual check for the electoral register. The role will involve doing door to door visits on the council’s behalf to properties who have not responded to the annual canvass forms.
If you would like to view the job description and apply, please visit our website.
Don't forget to use My Hastings!
Hastings Borough Council offices will be closed on Monday 28 August for the bank holiday.
While offices are closed, don’t forget you can still use My Hastings to easily report issues or access council services.

Help keep our town tidy this bank holiday weekend. Please bin your litter or take it home with you if the bins are full, and recycle what you can. Bags that are left next to the bins often get ripped open by seagulls.
You can easily report any litter you see to us using My Hastings.

The early symptoms of a heart attack don’t always feel severe. A squeezing across the chest, a feeling of unease. It’s never too early to call 999 and describe your symptoms.
