The Banded Funding project has been commissioned to design and deliver a universal banded funding system for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to replace the current Resource Allocation System (RAS) and the existing Special School banding framework. The system aims to support the delivery of tailored, child-focussed support, facilitate more creativity and flexibility and, in turn, equip children/young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to reach their full potential. More information is available on the Bulletin Board at the above link.
We want to make sure that schools are making the most of the free health and wellbeing support currently available for all school staff. Over the next few months, Tim Miles from our Occupational Health team will be contacting you to make sure you know what we are offering and have everything you need to share details with staff. For further information please see Bulletin Board using the above link.
This is a seasonal reminder to be aware of the risks from using fairy lights in school.
If you have old lights, seriously consider buying new ones which will meet much higher safety standards. Older mains fairy lights are dangerous when they become damaged as a blown bulb can cause electrocution, and because they can get very hot, they can be a fire hazard when placed in close proximity to combustible materials, such as trees and decorations. These lights are not recommended.
We recommend you only use LED fairy lights for indoor use. These operate at a lower voltage, they remain cool to the touch, are far more durable and less likely to break and are energy efficient. They’re safe to have around Christmas trees, fabrics and children. Further advice can be found on the Bulletin Board at the above link.
