Safeguarding
It’s that time of year, when you would normally be completing the Safeguarding Section 175/157 Safeguarding Audit. Please don’t worry you haven’t missed it!
Following the independent analysis of last year’s audit there were a number of recommendations with the primary one being that the “audit currently in place does not meet the needs of the safeguarding partners or the settings themselves”. Based on this and having listened to feedback from educational settings, the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership have completely revised the process. For more information please see the Bulletin Board at the above link.
All Schools
Following the recent ESFA consultation on implementing the direct national funding formula the Department for Education (DfE) will be introducing a new funding factor for split site schools from 2024/2025 as part of the transition to a ‘direct’ national funding formula (NFF).
This means that local authorities will no longer be responsible for determining the approach to funding split site schools in their area from 2024/2025 when the current local split site funding formula will be replaced by the DfE’s Split Site funding factor within the National Funding Formula.
To help facilitate this transition, local authorities will be required to provide data to the DfE as part of the 2023-24 funding exercise. Therefore, we require all mainstream schools and academies to check whether they will qualify for split site funding under the DfE national eligibility criteria – this is particularly important for those schools who receive a split site allocation under Gloucestershire’s current funding arrangements.
Please see the Bulletin Board at the above link for more information.
