The data collection toolkits are now available for completion if your organisation is intending to participate in the cost of care exercises.
Care Homes: in order to access the online data collection tool, please register your care home by clicking here.
Domiciliary Care: in order to receive the data collection spreadsheet, please request it by e-mailing James Cuthbert.
The council will pay a contribution of £500 towards any additional costs and expenses that any provider who submits their costs data incurs.
We need as many and as wide a range of care homes and domiciliary care providers as possible to participate to give credibility to the costs data that we submit to the government for Gloucestershire and to ensure that we receive as much of the available additional government funding for adult social care as we can.
We are really pleased to share with you the 6th Chapter of our survey reports. This one is about people’s experiences of “Home and Money” and is based on our survey into key concerns and priorities for disabled people in Gloucestershire. If you were one of the people who filled in the survey, thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us.
If you would like to view the Home and Money report, please click here.
If you have any comments or questions on the survey and its findings, please contact Vicci or Dawn.

NHS Gloucestershire ICB is currently looking into how we can improve our approach with the Care Sector to better support people who have fallen. We are planning to produce improved training and support resources including a film to directly address the concerns of care staff. We are keen to gather a broad range of provider views and experiences to ensure we are meeting your needs in the most appropriate way. We will be sending a survey out to all care providers via this newsletter in the next couple of months so please keep an eye out for this as we would really value your feedback (responses will be anonymous). Any queries please contact Liz Dolan - Occupational Therapist, Care Sector Support Team.

This month Proud to Care has:
- Successfully piloted Care Information & Recruitment sessions with DWP’s in Gloucester & Cirencester, working in collaboration with 3 – 4 care providers, resulting in an immediate connection & interview with candidates
- Continued to attend both DWP & Glos College organised jobs fairs, where the team pre-screen and connect potential job seekers to local care providers
- Connected 28 candidates to care providers in June
- Launched a care provider engagement initiative in the Forest of Dean & have had productive sessions [both virtual & face to face] with 9 care providers. Outcome: prioritisation of activities that focus on raising the profile of the sector & hoping to increase workforce numbers within the locality – funded through ADASS bid. The team are also working with Brokerage & GCPA.
- Piloted Indeed targeted recruitment. Initial engagement evidenced that technology was a barrier and team are trialling different methods of communication.
- Finalised the Proud to Care website layout & looking forward to launching it later this month-watch this space!
- Delivered Red Bags to those supported living settings who requested them. There are still a couple left so if you would like a Red Bag, please email the team at ptc@gloucestershire.gov.uk
- Jobs Board: register with our fully funded jobs board to upload job adverts and access pre-screened candidates. On our website you can access videos explaining how to use the jobs board and a training manual, and the team are always happy to help with any questions or issues. A big thank you to everyone who came and supported the 14th Big Health Wellbeing Open Day on the 17th June 2022!
On behalf of the Big Health and Wellbeing Open Day working group, I would like to say a big thank you to you all for your time and support in what was a fantastic and engaging event. Despite the searing heat I felt the event went exceptionally well, with many individuals and organisations meeting and taking away information and resources back to their respective communities.
It was so good having 120 organisations in the same place and the opportunity to meet face to face as well as our 131 Volunteers from Hartpury College, Dene Magna School, Gloucestershire Deaf Association and Inclusion Gloucestershire, who were inspirational and kept the day running smoothly.
We are still going through the figures and comments but our numbers at present are 1,407 not including the therapy dogs and Scrubditch Care Farm Animals, which is absolutely amazing.

In Gloucestershire and on the borders, we have so many fantastic organisations. After 14 years of holding this event this has grown in size and we hope is making a difference to peoples quality of life, as well as reducing health inequalities.
We really hope that the day was beneficial to you all. If you have any comments or observations please let us know as we are learning all the time and welcome your thoughts

A short video with subtitles has been created for those who were unable to attend. If you would like to view it please click here.
Thank you all again.
