The Department for Education (DfE) has responded to the Teacher’s Pension Scheme Indexation issue. This matter is currently being discussed between the TPS team within DfE and teacher unions to consider whether the current policy that was introduced in 2007 remains appropriate. Applications for Holiday Free School Meal Vouchers for the Spring holiday period is open from midday on 4 April. Voucher emails will be sent out between 6 and 7 April. The Bulletin Board at the above link has further information.
The Safety Health & Environment (SHE) team will be running an online training session for Headteachers, EVCs and other staff involved in managing educational visits and off-site activities on Wednesday 27 April 2022, 1:00pm – 3:30pm. The Department for Education (DfE) made an amendment to their list of statutory policies for maintained schools on 15 March 2022. The LA’s Education Outcomes and Intervention team has therefore updated their ‘checklist’ which is available on the Bulletin Board at the above link.
The Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme, funded by the Department for Education, will be returning this Spring break between 11-14th April for children in reception to year 11 who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals. Primary
Gloucestershire County Council has identified the need to establish a new 60-place special school for primary aged children with Moderate and Additional Learning Difficulties (MALD) to open in the academic year 2023/24. It is proposed to utilise the main school building and grounds that were previously leased to the academy trust that ran Severn View Primary School (now closed).
