Child Neglect Training

The purpose of this course is for participants to:-
1. Recognise the impact of neglect on the developing child
2. Outline the range and types of neglect and how to respond to these
3. Compare different levels of neglect and how they relate to Gloucestershire’s Levels of Intervention
4. Use the Neglect Toolkit to inform a multi-agency response
5. Use the Escalation Policy if you are concerned about a professional's response to your concerns
Child Exploitation (CSE & CCE) & Missing
next available dates - 27th April or 8th June
The purpose of this course is for participants to:-
To understand and act upon concerns regarding children and young people at risk of or experiencing abuse through sexual and / or criminal exploitation and when CYP go missing.
1. Explain the elements and types of Child Sexual and Criminal Exploitation
2. Recall the factors and risk indicators that may make a child vulnerable to exploitation
3. Know when and how to complete the Child Exploitation (CE) screening tool
4. Develop an understanding of the national and local developments in these areas, including the lessons learnt and best practice
5. Understand the push and pull factors in when CYP go missing.
Child Protection Inter Agency (CPIA) Level 3

The purpose of this course is for participants to:-
1. Consider the wide range of issues that are covered in child abuse and neglect. (Examine the many ways in which children and young people can be harmed and abused and consider the wide range of issues associated with such incidents.)
2. Understand the role of all agencies, including your own, to work together to safeguard children and young people.
3. Develop an understanding of the local and national child protection process and legal framework.
4. Consider the impact of personal and professional attitudes on effective investigating, assessing and decision making.
All of these courses consist of pre-reading and listening tasks plus an online course led by an experienced trainer and count towards CPD hours. New dates are added monthly so please check back regularly.
Each delegate MUST create their own account on MeLearning and register for courses in their own name to receive a certificate of attendance. Please do not join a different session to the one you have booked which will result in you being asked to leave the session.
