‘Mind Your Language’ FREE webinar event
Understanding the impact of language on victims of child exploitation webinar Tuesday 7th December 2021 at 1pm – 3pm.
There are many children who are currently being groomed, coerced and exploited sexually and criminally across the UK, including the area’s we live and work in.
The language we use as professionals can have a significant, and potentially lifelong, impact on victims of exploitation. A victim of exploitation is never to blame for the abuse they have lived through, yet we live in times where victims are still blamed.
The "Mind Your Language: Exploitation and Victim Blaming" webinar enables us to discuss victim-blaming language and how we can accurately and sensitively record and report on victim experiences. The aim of this webinar is to share practice between agencies and to explore ways in which we can develop the language we use.
Although this webinar will give examples of child exploitation, it is suitable for anyone working within a safeguarding environment.
It reflects on the language we use within our work and services and how impactful that can be on the children, young people, families and vulnerable adults who access our support.
Places are limited to 100. To book, please use this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/mind-your-language-exploitation-and-victim-blaming-webinar-tickets-203034380297
