Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) catering charges for Universal Free School Meals (UIFSM) have always been calculated using the same data and methodology that the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) use to allocate the grant to schools. This has worked well and schools have been receiving the correct amount of funding. This year the GCC catering charge was calculated using the same methodology as previous years, however due to discrepancies in data on the January census the ESFA has, this year, made an adjustment to how the UIFSM income was calculated.
